McCraw Joins Unit Dose Solutions

MORRISVILLE, N.C. – Unit Dose Solutions Inc., a fast-growing provider of outsourced drug repackaging services to hospital pharmacies, today announced the addition of Derrick McCraw as director of sales, U.S. patient care facilities. McCraw is a senior sales executive who most recently led teams at Access Integrated Networks. His background also includes serving as president of US Datacom as the company was acquired by BTI in 2000.

McCraw’s role at Unit Dose Solutions is to continue to grow the sales team as the company expands its services to hospital pharmacies and other healthcare organizations.

“Unit Dose Solutions is uniquely positioned with services that enable hospital staff to provide individual dose medications, verified to each patient so they receive the correct amount of the right medicine every time,” said McCraw. “I’m enthusiastic about what we’re building.”

Unit Dose Solutions is a trusted intermediary between hospital pharmacies that purchase in bulk from drug manufacturers – repackaging drug inventory into individual doses, each sealed with an intelligent bar code and human readable label information. This service of customizing package types, bar code formats, and labeling contents at the individual dose level greatly improves patient safety.

By outsourcing this service to Unit Dose Solutions, it also enables hospitals to avoid the costly operational investment of technology, staff acquisition and training.

Patient safety comes first at Unit Dose Solutions Inc., a drug repackaging and pharmacy services company based in Morrisville, N.C., with a second manufacturing facility in Harrison, N.J. The company's mission is to provide healthcare organizations with the most intelligent, bar-coded drug repackaging at the unit-dose level to improve medication tracking and patient safety. Unit Dose Solutions has customers that include UNC Health Care, Duke Medical Center, Coastal Carolinas Health Alliance, St. Louis Children’s Hospital, Dallas Doctor’s Hospital, among many other acute care hospitals, psychiatric hospitals, long-term care hospitals, nursing homes and other healthcare organizations.
